The Kalas Foundation has been grateful to support the charitable efforts of Kennedy Kulish and the Kisses for Kaeden Foundation; supporting children born with heart defects. To date, Kennedy has raised more than $135,000! She was recognized as a winner of the illustrious Jefferson Award for community service in November 2011, and was also a state honoree of national The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in February 2009, receiving her award from then President George Bush.
Kennedy has done much of her work to help children like her younger brother Kaeden, who will endure his fourth heart surgery on Wednesday, July 18 when he receives his second valve replacement. Kaeden is 8 years old and the youngest son of Carmela Kulish-Rhoads a third shift associate at the Kalas ECPD Lancaster facility. The positive energy and willingness to help others that both Carmela and Kennedy demonstrate is an inspiration to everyone they meet.
Over the weekend Kaeden’s family took him to Sesame Place to enjoy a day of fun before his procedure this week. Please keep Kaeden in your thoughts and prayers as we wish him a successful surgery and fast recovery!
