The Kalas Foundation announces some changes to its disbursement committee membership. Effective immediately, Cheryl Harsh has elected to give up her seat on the Kalas Foundation disbursement committee to allow some new associates to get involved. Cheryl has been an active and engaged member of the Foundation since its inception in 2009, and we thank her for her countless contributions and endless support.
On Friday, August 24, Kalas honored five Bulk associates for extending exceptional effort to support our business. Barry Kramer, Alex Roman, James Roman, Ron Crills, and Bob Ludwig were all invited to the Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays game along with Dave Hackman as guests of the Milby Company. “The annual Orioles game is just one of the things we do to express our gratitude to our associates for going above and beyond what is asked of them. Both our Bulk and ECPD divisions have really stepped up their levels of performance throughout the year, and we are grateful for their commitment to Kalas and our customers – it’s an honor to have these guys on our team,” commented Dennis Melnyk, Kalas COO.
The Kalas Foundation has been grateful to support the charitable efforts of Kennedy Kulish and the Kisses for Kaeden Foundation; supporting children born with heart defects. To date, Kennedy has raised more than $135,000! She was recognized as a winner of the illustrious Jefferson Award for community service in November 2011, and was also a state honoree of national The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in February 2009, receiving her award from then President George Bush.
